Signs are now Promising

Aberdeen's youngsters travelled to Fife and, following a disappointing result against Arbroath the previous week, proved to be too strong for Cowdenbeath reserves in their recent East Reserve League fixture, played at Central Park, winning by three goals to nil.
The Dons dominated the match for long spells and the blend of youth along with some experienced players proved to be a potent mixture. Paul Mason and Willem Van Der Ark bolstered up the attack and along with Graham Watson in midfield - possibly his best position - contributed constructively to a result which should have been even more emphatic.
The young players responded well to all the promptings of those three more experienced members. Derek Stillie played well in goal and handled the ball confidently. Jamie McCarron and Colin Milne both scored with shots from outside the penalty box, the Fife 'keeper failing to hold McCarron's effort. Willem Van Der Ark scored with a header which went in off the post.
