Fast-Moving Forward Line.

McDERMID GETS TWO GOALS.

By defeating Third Lanark at Plttodrle by four clear goals Aberdeen maintained their undefeated Alliance record. Though beaten, the ' Warriors ' were not outplayed to the extent the score would suggest.

Aberdeen did not find it easy to make progress at first, Thirds doing most of the pressing by reason of their quick-moving forward raids, which were repeatedly baulked by the efficient defence of Jackson and Sharp. Cumming also demonstrating his ability clearing dangerous efforts from Blair, McCulloch, and Thomson.
The visitors became more subdued on the Pittodrie intermediate line becoming assertive, and Taylor did well to clear commendable trys by Armstrong, Warnock, and Mutch.
Following thirty-seven minutes' play Godfrey slipped the ball to McDermid, who opened the scoring. Minutes later Mutch added a second.
Immediately on resuming McDermid increased the lead after some good work by O'Reilly and Warnock. This reverse brought out the fighting abilities of the "Warriors," who attempted occasional raids through McMillan and Thomson, before Warnock dashed through the opposition and parted to Donald, who notched a fourth goal.

Players Who Shone.

Thirds created a favourable Impression. Taylor played confidently, McFarlane and Aitken giving him every protection. Harvey and Waddel gave a good display, and McCulloch, Blair, and McMillan were efficient attackers.
Aberdeen's rear three were sound. Cumming was a good custodian, and Jackson and Sharp a grand pair of backs.
O'Reilly was the most prominent of a promising half line. Forward Warnock and Mutch were dangerous raiders and received assistance from Donald and McDermid.
